The HEXARING by Hexarope is a compact and innovative friction ring, specifically designed to meet the needs of arborists during tree dismantling operations. Unlike traditional friction rings derived from the marine industry, the HEXARING was designed from the ground up for pruning and dismantling, providing better compatibility and greater care for the ropes used in this field.

But what is a friction ring?

A friction ring is a tool primarily used by arborists to control the descent of heavy loads, such as branches or sections of trunk during tree felling and dismantling operations. It helps regulate the descent speed by increasing friction on the rope, thus reducing the dynamic load that could otherwise damage the ropes, equipment, or even cause accidents. The friction ring acts as a passive brake that allows for control and ensures the safety of operations at height.

• Optimized design for tree care: The Hexaring is the first friction ring specifically designed for tree care, respecting the unique demands of this practice.  
• Ergonomic design and splice-friendly: Its unique teardrop (or pear) shape is specifically designed to accommodate the natural shapes of splices, often used by arborists to secure anchor points on the rope. This design prevents splices from being crushed, a common issue with traditional cylindrical friction rings.  
• Respect for rope bending radius: With a curvature factor of 4, the Hexaring ensures the ropes bending radius is respected. This detail is crucial, as an improper bending radius can cause premature wear on rope fibers and shorten their lifespan.  
• Compact size and lightweight: The Hexaring stands out with its compact size and lightweight design, making it easy to transport and use without sacrificing performance. Compared to other friction rings with similar capacities, it is much lighter and easier to handle, making the arborist's work in challenging conditions more manageable.  
• Hard anodization: The aluminum body is coated with hard anodization, providing increased resistance to wear, corrosion, and the tough conditions that tree care equipment is often exposed to. This ensures greater longevity of the tool.
